Technology Integration

One of the challenges of being a Technology Specialist is helping teachers and students to integrate technology into the curriculum and their classwork. To that end I have worked on several projects that attempt to better include technology in classroom assignments. Some of this work is conducted outside of the classroom, while other lessons are taught in the school's computer lab.

I helped Judy Burnstin's Mercer Island HS Multimedia Class record and produce podcasts.

Heather McClung recorded podcasts with her Kindergarten class after taking my podcasting workshop!

I took notes at Dr. Yong Zhao's presentation to the Mercer Island School District community.

I built a screensaver module to use with the digital picture frame in Physical Education classes to instruct students on proper stretching techniques and form.

I helped two fourth grade classes turn their biography presentations into podcasts.

I attended NCCE 2008 in Seattle.

I taught a podcasting workshop with Michael Hagen to instruct teachers how to integrate podcasts into their curriculum.

I worked with second grade students to record their favorite places on Mercer Island using Google Earth.

I was involved in making a film for new students to our school. This activity taught a group of first graders about digital film making.
