Lakeridge's Tech Club is an inclusive learning environment for students in grades three, four, and five. We meet weekly during lunch recess. This year students will work on digital photography projects, podcasting, recording a musical album, and making movies.

I started a VoiceThread with some of Tech Club's photos.
This website lets you upload photos, documents, or video then add comments, either written, spoken, or as a video clip. I have added my comments, and Tech Club students will soon add comments of their own, too.
I have had some issues with getting VoiceThread to work consistently with the Safari browser. If VoiceThread does not load for you please try Firefox.
Helena experimented with Tech Club's first Video Podcast!
Helena said: "Hi, I'm Helena. Doing this Tech Club project was so NOT a waste of time. I had an excellent time learning to use things on the Mac. First, Tech Club took pictures at the Halloween parade. Second, I recorded a Halloween poem I learned in class. I then used GarageBand and tweeked my voice to sound scarier. Lastly, I used iMovie to put the pictures that Tech Club took and put them in the right places."
Mr. Burker said: "This was Tech Club's first video podcast. I am very excited about this new media and how it creates opportunities for students to produce rich narratives."
You can watch the movie in your browser by clicking the link above. Or you can download the video for use on your iPod video: Mac users should hold down the Option key on their keyboards and click the link, while PC users can right-click and select to download the file. Double-click the .m4v file to import it into iTunes, where you can then copy it to your iPod video.
You can subscribe to Tech Club's RSS feed in iTunes to get this episode as well as past episodes.
Here is a small selection from more than 1600 digital still photos taken by Tech Club members.
Additionally, a huge collection of photographs are on display at Lakeridge Elementary on the digital picture frame hanging in the hall.
Helena updated the New Student Comic Book for the 2007-2008 school year!
Arjun recorded a public service announcement for Recycling Club that will also be used for a podcasting segment.
Ali, Jamie, and Jasmine recorded a Tech Club Cheer in GarageBand!
Below are some of the projects that Tech Club completed last year.
