Emergency Response Plan

In light of world events we have had inquiries about our school and districts Emergency Response Plan for catastrophic events. The formal plan is available here for your review.

The main points we stress are...

  1. All students are trained and practiced in our first response and evacuation procedures (fire, earthquake and lockdown)
  2. We have procedures and supplies to house students for up to a week in the case of a catastrophe and contingencies for if the building is rendered unusable.
  3. We have a clear procedure for checking out students in such situations. It is important for parents to know that they must check out their children from the office or designated staff during an emergency situation so we can keep track of every child. We will only release students to those listed as emergency contacts with permission to check out their child.

Our plans are designed around best practices and direction of the Washington State Emergency Management Department.
