West Mercer Student Council

WM Student Council is a Leadership, Service and School Spirit team comprised of 4th and 5th graders.

Two students from each 4th and 5th grade class participate in Student Council along with a few 5th grade Officers who have experience being Student Council Representatives from their 4th grade year.

Student Council Representatives and Officers primarily meet twice a month during lunch and lunch recess with Principal and WM Parent Volunteer Advisor.

WM Student Council works to:

- Foster school pride and spirit in planning fun and varied "Spirit Days" throughout the year.

- Lead the WM community in a large scaled "Service Project" helping others outside our school community.

- Practice listening, communication and responsibility skills.

- Communicate events through designing posters, KFN tapings, and lunchroom announcements as well as classroom presentations for special projects.
