Kindergarten Registration and Elementary Visitation Days information

Kindergarten registration will begin with an orientation meeting for parents of children who reach the age of five on or before August 31, 2012. More info...

February 6th	2:00pm Early Release Monday, All Students Dismissed at 2:00pm
February 6th- 10th	WM Heritage Week
February 6th & 7th	Parent Education: Finding Kind Documentary Film MIHS 7pm
February 9th	WM Culture Fair: 7- 8:30pm
February 10th	Deadline to register for West Mercer Science Fair. Please register under Clubs/Activities/Science Fair.
February 20-21st	No School: Presidents Day Mid-Winter Break
March 1 & 2nd	WM Musical Performances 1:30pm & 7pm
March 5th	WM Science Fair at The Peak, 4:30-6:45pm

 

Snow closure make-up days

The 2011-2012 Student Calendar identifies the three (3) make-up days that will be used this spring due to the closure of school on January 18, 19 and 20. More info...

Absences:

Parents, I know that many of you are planning for family vacations for the coming year. Please keep two items in mind:

1. We have a policy regarding vacations and make-up work on our website. Please review this policy as you make plans. It includes that we do not provide work for during vacations, but suggest students enjoy the vacation and do make-up work upon return. 2. April and May is a time when grades 3-5 will do ITBS (4th & 5th) &/or MSP (3rd-5th) (district and state) assessments. Please try to avoid vacations during these times. We will post specific test dates as they are available but this is not only testing time but also prime time for instruction (though so is January-March), so we hate to see students miss school.

Office Hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Warning Bell 9:10 a.m. / School Begins 9:15 a.m.

AM Recesses: Grades K-2: 10:35 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. / Grades 3,4 & 5: 10:50 a.m. to 11:05 a.m.

AM Kindergarten/Dismissal 12:00 p.m.

Lunch and Recesses: Grades 2nd & 4th 12:00 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. / Grades K & 5th 12:20 p.m. to 1:00 p.m./ Grades 1st & 3rd 12:40 p.m. to 1:20 p.m.

PM Recesses: Grades K-2: 2:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. / Grades 3, 4 and 5: 2:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

** Every Monday students are dismissed at 2:00 p.m.
