Chess Club is open to all West Mercer students in grades K-5. All levels are welcome- from beginners through advanced. Students meet each Monday from 2:00-3:00 for 24 sessions beginning September 26th and ending on April 30th. There will be a year-end party on May 7th. We are very excited about our excellent instructors for each group. Each session includes an instruction time as well as a practice time when the children can try out the new skills they have learned. The West Mercer Chess Club is also very active in community chess tournaments and offers many opportunities for members to participate on the weekends.
There is a yearly fee of $325 per student which includes 24 sessions of instruction, use of the club equipment, a T-shirt, and year-end party. Registration is on a "first come, first serve" basis with a September 20 deadline. We will be taking registration in the fall after school opens. Please look for more information in the PTA packet that comes home with students during the first week of school.
