Pre- Arranged Absence Policy:
Recently the three elementary schools got together to build a consistent policy on Pre-Arranged Absences. Though this is not a departure from what has been in our handbook, we thought this may be a good time to share the policy as you consider making family vacations for the remainder of the year. Please take a moment to read the attached document. Also, remember that the state assessments for grades 3-5 this year are during May 12-28. Please avoid family vacations during this time.

New K-5 Math Curriculum
Math Expressions Online Student Materials: All of the student materials for the K-5 Math Expressions curriculum are now available to students and families online. Click here for directions how to access them. Thanks to the generosity of the Mercer Island Schools Foundation, the district is pleased to be implementing Math Expressions, published by Houghton Mifflin, as the new core K-5 mathematics curriculum this year. You can also visit the MISD Parent Resource Page for more ideas on how to help your child.
