The
Athletic Office is re-open for the new school year, Mon-Fri,
7:45am-4:15 pm.
FIRST DAY OF TRY-OUTS:
Mon 8/22
Fall
2011 Try-out information:
Try-outs will be
held on Monday 8/22 and Tuesday 8/23 at the West Seattle Golf
Course at 1:00 pm. Fee is $15 per day. Try-outs will
be 18 holes both days, after which a maximum of 24 qualifiers
will be invited to return for a third day of try-outs,with
cuts made afterward based on overall stroke totals and coach
observations. The third day of try-outs will be held
at Twin Rivers Golf Course on Wednesday 8/24 for 9 holes @
2pm (no cost). A maximum of 18 players will be kept
for the 2011 Golf team. To try out, all players must
fill out all MIHS paperwork with the Athletic Office and also
confirm with Coach Peters, so as to book the necessary tee
times.
Description
of Program
The
MIHS Boys Golf team has become a perenial powerhouse in Kingco
with multiple titles acheived in the last decade. Led
by Head Coach Tyson Peters and Assistant Coach Tim Proctor,
the MIHS Boys Golf program helps competitive golfers improve
their game by being more efficient in course management and
strategy, shot and club selection, working with problem shots,
and gaining more knowledge about the rules and etiquette necessary
to play golf as it should be played. Through daily driving
range use, on-course playing lessons, and weekly matches,
the MIHS Golf program does not teach athletes how to play
the game of golf, rather we focus on how to be successful
at the competitive level, while also placing emphasis on sportsmanship
and etiquette.

information, available in spring/summer.
Schedule Information
For
the 2011-2012 school year, the KingCo Conference, within which
MIHS is a 3A school, is moving to a new scheduling software
program. The KingCo Conference is no longer using Digital
Sports. This change is happening over the 2011 summer.
In
the Fall, we will have specific instructions in this space
for accessing the MIHS Bys Golf schedule. Thank you for
