Selection Process
Students seeking admission to Crest are accepted through the following process:
- Students should meet with their counselor and/or Crest staff in order to determine the appropriateness of attending Crest.
- Students should get a Crest Application Packet from the High School counselor or from Crest and fill it out with their parent or guardian.
- Students should turn the Crest Application Packet to their High School Counselor or directly to Crest if appropriate.
- The application will be reviewed by the Mercer Island High School
Building Guidance Team to review the appropriateness of the request.
The Building Guidance Team meets weekly on Wednesdays; Applications must
be turned in by Tuesday morning in order to be on that week's agenda.
- The decision of the Building Guidance Team will be delivered to the student through their counselor following the meeting.

Students seeking admission to Crest are selected using the following
criteria:

program in the regular high school.
- The student is returning to school after a prolonged absence and/or
withdrawal with the desire to complete the requirements for a diploma.
- The student needs help, through a one-to-one relationship, with personal
difficulties that affect their growth and/or academic progress.
- The student needs to make up credits to graduate with their class.
- The student is seeking an alternative learning experience.
Once accepted, students are admitted on a space available basis or placed
on a waiting list.
At this time, Crest Learning Center is not accepting applications from
students who reside in other school districts.
